I wanted to take a simple graphic approach, but also with a striking colour palette which grabs attention.

My concept was to create a t-shirt which reflected the summer, sunshine, fun with a bit of childhood playfulness thrown in.

pretty straight forward brief to design a three page magazine spread, i chose an article about Ben Kilner British halfpipe boarder. Still think it needs tidying up but im getting there.

A good brief this one, to design a puffin book cover for the reissue of Alices adventures in Wonderland. I took two approaches to this: firstly i looked at the illustration styles of Ralph Steadman and Quentin Blake and decided to try and use their chaotic styles to design a concept around the idea of a flamingo looking worrried as it is just about to be used as a croquet mallet. Still not happy with the layout on the flamingo, but its still needs a bit of work!

The second idea was based around keeping the cover in a style of the penguin covers of the fifties and sixties similar to Germano Facetti, using simple shapes and colour.

The first incarnation, layout and overprinting are a new route for me so these are a bit rough around the edges...but enjoyable so i'll be trying to get a handle on them at the next relevant brief, hopefully!
